Just a few years ago, preparing for an exam like CMAT, CAT or GMAT was like getting ready for a war. One wouldn’t know what will be the pattern of question will be, how the questions would be placed, etc. Today, it is so much easier – we get sample questions, previous year question papers and a plethora of guidance from the experts. To add to this, examination agencies have now started providing you access to trial tests. Now, you can actually practice appearing for the actual exam, and that too, right from your home!
The online trial tests for CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) 2016 are now available on the official website –www.aicte-cmat.in. Use this trial site to assess your preparations for the exam. The CMAT is an entry ticket to B-schools if you qualify the cutoffs.
The registrations of CMAT has started from 3rd Nov 2015 and is available till 10th Dec 2015. You’ll have to register on the CMAT website first. Once you have registered and paid the requisite exam fee, you can download your admit card that will be available on 5th Jan 2016 that will tell you your exam center. The CMAT 2016 is scheduled on 17th Jan 2016 and the result will be declared on 21st Jan 2016.
CMAT is a national level entrance exam conducted by AICTE – All India Council of Technical Education. The exam is a 3 hour (180 minutes) online question paper, consisting of 100 questions broken down into 4 segments – Quantitative and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Language Comprehension.

Preparing well for the CMAT exam is the key to selection in reputed B-School. However, it is not the only exam, if you miss out CMAT, there are exams like CAT and GMAT also, that you can appear to take up a management course like MBA, PGP and PGDM, etc. However, CAT and similar exam scores are preferred by selective B Schools only. IPER Bhopal prefers CMAT score for selections in MBA, and admission process for MBA colleges in Bhopal is carried out by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), MP.
