This is the place where I always wanted to be but I was not knowing life would be so tough behind the fence. There was something captivating and captivating enough about IPER to make me feel like staying back here. And that “something captivating” is still there….the lectures by most loved Prof. Khalsa and his earnest efforts for our continuous improvement, be it be the blogs on ibranch (IPER’s web portal) or energizing lectures.
The tough tiring days when there was so much to do and so little time, the hundreds of PPTs, CMTP (case study with background voices of Prof. Mahesh...”PHOD DALENGE”) and Reports, Class Discussions, Presentations, HAM (Human Asset Mgmt), Seminars, Guest Lectures, Assignments, Organization Visits…did someone say 48 hours day!!!
Although it took little time…but slowly we started to love our new life, all of a sudden the single holiday in a week was impatiently awaited… the only day we could sleep for eight hours and have a talk with our family!!!
But the efforts were worth it…it didn’t took us long to add some new words like ‘cost-cutting’, ‘market-expansion’, ‘expanding customer-base’, ‘product redesign’, etc to our vocabulary. Case studies had by now become a part of life; giving presentations became a regular exercise. Classes were not just classes; they were more of discussions between the professors and students, in fact teachers here are more of mentors than else. As and when a problem arose…the faculty was just a mail away. Learning here is not just restricted to classes alone; there are talks by the very best from the industry, as they set their experiences giving insights to the best of minds!
The emphasis while learning was not on just knowing the theories but also on knowing the current trends and practices in management and hence creating your own definitions of management, the IIM way. “Cherishing those ever-lovely memories and thinking we are living a real dream.
